2014 was an exciting year for Localz and one that saw us partner with one of the biggest names in online payment systems, PayPal, through their Start Tank Initiative.

PayPal’s London Start Tank Initiative is an exciting experience that fosters an innovative co-working space with PayPal and Braintree. The specific aim of the program is to drive success and growth in UK start-ups and in October 2014 along with four other startups, BarPass, Henchman and Co, Megatransfert and Trendii, Localz was invited to participate in the incubator.

PayPal and Braintree provided Localz with immensely generous offerings of their services, including facilities, mentorship, desk connectivity and business opportunities. We were able to establish great relationships with our fellow startups, including BarPass with whom we collaborated  during our time in the program.

Start Tank is dedicated to getting new business off the ground and providing the tools to excel. Localz Product Director Martijn Verbree could not speak more highly of the Start Tank Initiative and what it can offer startups.

“The value has been immense. Doors open for us when we say we are actually associated with Start Tank, people want to talk to us, they want to know what we’re up to.”

If you’re deciding whether or not to apply to a future intake of Start Tank, we couldn't encourage you more.

“It’s a great program that they have over here, you are associated with PayPal, you get everybody around PayPal to introduce themselves. Great mentorship, great office, great space, so why wouldn't you?” says Martijn Verbree.
