Localz is pleased to be selected to attend the first Australia-United States Business Week (AUSBW) from 16th until 26th February in San Francisco. As part of the trade delegation, Localz will participate in a number of panels and meetings in the Silicon Valley in San Francisco. Localz Co-Founder and Product Director, Pete Williams, is looking forward to joining the event to gain insight into US market.
The inaugural AUSBW is taking place in major cities in the United States including Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco. In each location, representatives from companies within the agribusiness and food science, digital technology, med tech, resources and energy, and tourism sectors are going to benefit from sector-specific programs. There will be a series of meetings, sessions, market briefings, investment roundtables, industry summits and site visits. The last three days of the Australia-United States Business Week will bring everyone together in New York, where all delegates can engage with institutional investors.
The Australia-United States Business Week is the Government’s premier programme of business events, which objective is to reinforce the connection between the Australian and the US markets. Andrew Robb, AO MP Minister for Trade and Investment, is going to lead a delegation of Australian companies. His aim is to promote the business links between Australia and the United States and to showcase the capability of both countries.
Localz is participating in the AUSBW’s Digital Technology sessions in the Silicon Valley in San Francisco. In the centre of global technology innovation, delegates have the great opportunity to interact with investors, researchers, entrepreneurs and thinkers that are shaping the direction of the industry. A particular focus of the sessions is going to be on industry disruption, cyber security, and the emergence of the Internet of Things. Pete Williams is participating in several of the panels, where he is planning to discuss location technology and its role within the IoT.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Localz to network with leading US and American investors, partners and potential clients. We are looking forward to meeting a number of big tech players and their senior management in and around San Francisco including: Y Combinator, Andreessen Horowitz, Airbnb, LinkedIn, Wells Fargo, NASDAQ, CSIRO, HP and Salesforce” comments Pete Williams.
