Localz has been named as a finalist in the prestigious ASCL Awards 2017 in the International Supply Chain category. The Awards will take place on Friday 17 November at The Grand Ballroom, Luna Park, Sydney.
Recognising that supply chains know no boundaries, this award is given to a company that operates internationally. Localz have demonstrated their capability, commitment and achievement across the supply chain. In particular, judges at ASCL looked for companies that are achieving increased recognition of the supply chain as a global industry.
The Melbourne-based tech team at Localz have achieved this with the Your DPD mobile app. DPD's UK customers can track their deliveries and update their delivery preferences via the app.
Localz Last Mile uses the latest in location technology to connect Your DPD users, enabling delivery drivers to check whether a customer is at their delivery address. If a customer is away from home, the delivery can be rescheduled in real-time.
Localz Last Mile is saving DPD time and money by improving their first-time delivery rates. First time deliveries reduce delivery costs and SMS volumes. By knowing where a customer is in real time, the number of missed deliveries has dropped dramatically. Customer satisfaction has improved as customers can easily update their delivery preferences and so are not stuck at home waiting for a delivery.
Tim Andrew, co-founder and CEO of Localz, comments: “We are absolutely delighted to be named as a finalist in the ASCL Awards 2017. It’s a real honour and testament to all the hard work that our tech team put into our ground-breaking delivery solution. I’d like to thank DPD UK for their collaboration around Your DPD and Localz Last Mile."
“Consumers know what they want where and when they want them. This on-demand economy of heightened consumer expectation is a new category. It is defined as the Individual Economy or ‘Iconomy’ for short. Working with Your DPD we are providing Iconomy Fulfilment."
