The last couple of weeks have kept Localz particularly busy with participation in a number of events around the world. Most recently, Localz exhibited at KDS Retail Solutions Day on the 8th October in Jakarta, Indonesia. Representing Localz at the event was Jason Were, Localz Business Development Director for the region, and Paul Wong, Solution Consultant.
The event was organised by KDS, Localz partner in Indonesia, and sponsored by Data Logic, Honeywell, Manthan, Pricer, Star Micronics, Symphony EYC, Wincor Nixdorf and Zebra. There were over 250 attendants, including senior executives from the top 100 retailers in Indonesia.The KDS Retail Solutions Day 2015 was a combination of workshops, presentations and a retail technology trade fair. Key topics and discussions during the event included cash management, RFID, Business Intelligence, Omni-channel, Proximity Retailing, Barcoding Technology, ERP Solutions, Electronic Shelf Labels, Customer Loyalty and Digital Signage.
Jason Were from Localz delivered a presentation titled 'Integrating the physical and digital worlds – Proximity Retailing’.He spoke about emerging technology in retail and how enterprises are increasingly looking to engage with their customers based on their proximity to something or someone in the physical world. The use of different proximity technologies such as Geofences, iBeacons, Wifi, QR codes or NFC is gaining huge momentum with enterprises that are seeking to create or simplify customer experiences or realise operational efficiencies in their business. In his presentation, Jason commented on a few of the countless use-cases, such as providing additional information about a product that a customer is in front of in-store, or enabling a parcel that was ordered online to be picked from back of house and be waiting for a customer at the front desk as they approach a store.
The event was a great opportunity for Localz to showcase it’s technology to the leading retailers in Indonesia, and get validation of the relevance of its technology to the local market. Key to this was Localz' partnership with KDS and the excellent reputation KDS enjoys as the leading suppler of technology to the retail sector in Indonesia.
